Panels

Here are a few random panels I inked to get a feel for the look. Some of them could become storyboards. I like the gestalt idea of losing lines and letting the imagination fill in the rest. Like black hair against a black background.

EC Comics

I'm going to incorporate a bit of an EC horror comics colour scheme in some of the animation. Bright, simple and totally illogical, they have an overwhelming impact and reflect the mood of the moment.

Here are some samples from Tales from the Crypt.

New Project - The Retribution

The RETRIBUTION is a ghost story.

Ben, a newspaper reporter, is lead by a ghost wanting to avenge her own death, but Ben's idea of revenge differs greatly to hers.

Visual Style.

Part Film Noir part EC Horror comics, the film will combine live action with animation to move in and out of our world and the ghost realm.

Here is some examples from Val Lewton films to give an impression of how the live action sequences will look.

The Seventh Victim

Isle of the Dead

Cat People

Arts Hub

Artshub has done a profile on me and it's got a link to the trailer.

Cineteca Nacional De Mexico

It appears that the Mexican National Cinema has mistaken Hanging at Picnic rock, which they have in their catalog, for it's prequel, Picnic at Hanging Rock and embedded it as the trailer for the wrong movie.

Anyway, that's how I interpret it, have a look yourself.

You can't buy this kind of publicity (actually you can but I'm eating $2 instant curries and looking for change down the back of the couch so I can't).

Maybe they'll want to show the real thing.

I went to this cinema last year and bought a couple of DVDs. Maybe it payed off somehow.

Some other stat's; It was posted there on April 5th 2010 and has received 184 views from that site.

Melbourne Queer Film Festival

"Re: 21st Melbourne Queer Film Festival March 17 - 28, 2011

Dear Clint,
The Melbourne Queer Film Festival is pleased to let you know that it has selected the film HANGING AT PICNIC ROCK to screen at our 21st festival (March 17 – 28, 2011). "

This is great because it'll be screening while I'm at VCA doing my Masters which will give me some cred at school and everyone will like me.

Isn't that what happened last time?
